About
We are a group of Christ followers who share a love for Muslims and a love for the many diverse and beautiful cultures in which Muslims live globally. Most of us work through the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Our hope in developing this Website is that it helps non-Muslims accurately understand Islam and Muslims and, through that developed understanding, know better how to “love your neighbor.”
Who you may be
You may be a Christian who has never considered what it means to build a relationship with Muslims, or you may be a Christian who has considered it but doesn’t know where to begin. The first thing to remember is that Muslims are not evangelism projects – frankly, no person is. We hope through this site you’ll learn how to relate to Muslims and see them as people very similar to yourself. We also hope you’ll learn how to share not only your life with them but, most importantly, the Truth to spiritual life found only in Jesus.
Or you may be Muslim. If so, peace…. and welcome! Our site is designed out of love for you. We do not want to belittle your warm and hospitable cultures. Instead, we hope that Christians can learn to see those things which are wonderful about Muslim peoples. We do, however, recognize from the outset that Muslims and Christians are not going to agree on all matters, specifically those related to how mankind is justified before God. We don’t want to try to coerce you into Christian belief. That is not something we can accomplish. We do want our Christian brothers and sisters to learn how they can better relate to you and in that relating, share the truth of the Gospel (the “Good News”) of Jesus Christ. This Good News begins with understanding that mankind is sinful and deserving of God’s wrath and eternal punishment. The only escape is through turning from your sin and toward God in faith of the work that Jesus Christ accomplished when He suffered on the cross taking the full punishment for our sins (being “crucified”) and raised to life three days later. Only through Christ’s death can a person be completely forgiven and brought into the family of God.
This is not something we think we can convince you to believe. Rather, we hope that you will have a chance to hear this from your Christian neighbor and that your spiritual eyes will be opened to see it as truth. So, out of love for Him and love for you, we created this website to help our Christian brothers and sisters know better how to love you and build relationships with you.
May all who pass through here be blessed.
